Charter Oak Woman’s Club is a member of GFWC, the largest and oldest volunteer organization in the world for women.
For more than 100 years, GFWC has worked to address the concerns, needs and interests in our communities and our nation.
The object and purpose of this club is to promote education and community service, and to work for cultural and civic advancement. The areas of focus are on Art, Education, Conservation, Home and Public Affairs, International Concerns and Special Interests.
We also promote friendship and fellowship among the individuals of our organization. Not only does it
foster friendships, it enables us to utilize our skills and learn new ones. It also provides a framework
in which we can expand our awareness of public services.
Even though we are small, our club has volunteered countless hours in our more than fifty year history to support and help meet the needs of many worthwhile causes. We are proud to have been able to contribute to the following:
- Shepherds Pantry
- Holiday Baskets
- Santa Clothes
- Pennies for Pines
- Humane Society
- Salvation Army
- Local Schools
- Blankets of Love
- Citrus Valley Hospice
- Alzheimer’s Association
- and many more…
Our organization has made significant contributions to our communities, as well as supporting
and participating with other groups whose objectives and activities are also working towards
improving the quality of life in our communities.
As a member of a District, State and International organization, we do indeed join hands with
thousands of women and men making a difference, through volunteering.
